About Us

Dr. PrinceDr. Prince Oteng-Boateng, Ph.D., M.Div., Th.M., B.A. (Hons) Dip. Ed.,  CPCS, CSAT, CMAT

For over 20 years, Dr. Prince Oteng-Boateng has been a practicing counsellor, pastor, and teacher with a rich international experience and a solid educational background and training from some of the leading experts in the field of psychotherapy.

He is a Certified Professional Counsellor and Supervisor (CPCS) with the Professional Association of Christian Counsellors and Psychotherapists. He is also a Certified Sex Addiction and Trauma Therapist (CSAT) and a Certified Multiple Addictions Therapist (CMAT), through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). In addition, he holds professional memberships with a number of international counselling organizations.

Currently, Dr. Oteng-Boateng is a professional counsellor and a certified marriage educator serving the Calgary, Alberta area. He completed his internship at the Canberra Hospital and the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia, and completed his residency at the Calgary Counselling Centre.

Dr. Oteng-Boateng received his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Seoul National University. His doctoral dissertation focused on the impact of forgiveness on conflict and marital satisfaction among expatriate couples. After completing seminary training, Dr. Oteng-Boateng served as the senior pastor of the oldest Protestant congregation in South Korea, and simultaneously maintained a private practice as a professional clinical counsellor. He also helped to establish the Family Life Center – a marriage and family counselling service for United States service members and their families. Currently, Dr. Oteng-Boateng is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Clinical Neuropsychology at the Fielding Graduate University.

His experience of living and training in different countries and working with clients from various ethnic backgrounds and faiths has given him a deep respect for people of all backgrounds and a cultural awareness that is inclusive and caring.

Over the years, Dr. Oteng-Boateng has helped couples turn their difficult marriages around, and helped individuals to overcome the fear of judgment, work/performance anxiety, and to become more confident in professional and social settings.

He believes in using an integrative therapeutic framework that is specialized for the client from an outcome-informed perspective. He holds himself accountable to his clients, measuring progress and collecting client feedback to ensure the client reaches their desired outcome or goal. His expertise include the following:
